Viking Whetstone Pendant

$75.00

This Viking style whetstone was inspired by my visit to the museum in Dublin, Ireland.  Their collection of Viking whetstones was totally impressive and I spent hours studying them. The Vikings wore their whetstones around their necks as they didn’t have pockets. Pockets emerged in clothing about 1,000 years later (truly an enigma! what does it take to sew a pocket onto your pants?). They’re usable and go well with your Viking wear.

Description

I spent a fair amount of time studying Viking whetstones in both Reykjavik, Iceland and Dublin, Ireland. This stone is the result! Vikings wore their stones around their neck as pockets hadn’t been invented yet. The belgian blue stone is a fast cutter and polisher. Neck lanyard (adjustable) included.
